Carme <\/strong> e Maria Casald\u00e1liga <\/strong> viram seu irm\u00e3o Pedro partir para a Amaz\u00f4nia aos 40 anos. Nunca mais voltou para casa. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pedro Casald\u00e1liga, com 11 anos, ou mesmo antes, tinha clareza que queria ser padre. Como a fam\u00edlia acolheu essa decis\u00e3o de um menino de 11 anos?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carme: <\/strong>Ele sempre dizia que queria ser padeiro, mas tinha um padre que frequentava o Cort\u00e8s del Pi (uma casa rural onde moravam primos do Pedro) e contava muitas hist\u00f3rias e tamb\u00e9m coisas da Guerra Civil e isso fez ele\u00a0decidir ser padre. Ao entrar no semin\u00e1rio de Vic, logo pediu para ser mission\u00e1rio claretiano. Escreveu uma carta aos nossos pais contando.<\/p>\n

Como era o Pedro durante sua inf\u00e2ncia? Parece que j\u00e1 sendo adolescente tinha muita firmeza em suas ideias.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carme: <\/strong> Ele era brincalh\u00e3o como as outras crian\u00e7as daqui, mas ele n\u00e3o gostava de brigas de jeito nenhum. Aqui em casa vinham muitas crian\u00e7as brincar no telhado porque era grande. Lembro-me dos irm\u00e3os do Cal Paquela (Bonet), dos Vilelles … E se havia brigas, ele sempre tentava fazer as pazes.<\/p>\n

O seu tio Lu\u00eds, que tamb\u00e9m era padre, foi assassinado durante a Guerra Civil Espanhola enquanto tentava se esconder. Diz-se que esse fato, somado ao v\u00ednculo que o Pedro mantinha com seu tio Lu\u00eds, o influenciou no modo como enfrentou a vida. Foi isso mesmo? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Carme: <\/strong> Sim, com certeza. O fato do nosso tio Lu\u00eds ter sido assassinado na guerra, aqui perto, foi decisivo para o Pedro.<\/p>\n

Maria: <\/strong> Em casa, nossos pais e a fam\u00edlia n\u00e3o queriam falar muito nesse assunto; mas o tio Lu\u00eds era muito jovem (33 anos) e foi um grande impacto para toda a fam\u00edlia.<\/p>\n

Quando Pedro Casald\u00e1liga partiu para o Brasil como mission\u00e1rio em 1968, como se despediu de sua fam\u00edlia e voc\u00eas dele? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Carme e Maria: <\/strong> Ele se despediu de todos e foi visitar parentes de outros lugares. O Lu\u00eds de Cal Pastisseret o acompanhou. A Merc\u00e8 de Cal Pastisseret nos contou que estando em Cand\u00e1liga [a casa rural da fam\u00edlia], do alto da escada, ele disse: \u00abDeixe-me olhar com aten\u00e7\u00e3o, pois nunca mais verei este lugar.\u00bb<\/p>\n

Todos pensaram que ele voltaria em pouco tempo, mas ele nunca mais voltou. S\u00f3 nos encontramos novamente em Roma vinte anos mais tarde. <\/p>\n

Eram muito amigos com a Antonia. Foi uma despedida muito familiar. Todos pensaram que ele voltaria logo, mas ele nunca mais voltou. Nos encontramos novamente em Roma vinte anos mais tarde.<\/p>\n

Carme <\/strong>: Ele disse: \u00abTenho que ter muito cuidado agora, porque eles tamb\u00e9m querem me matar.\u00bb Mesmo assim, ele n\u00e3o falava abertamente nas cartas, pois sabia que as mesmas eram lidas pela ditadura. Tamb\u00e9m chegava informa\u00e7\u00e3o dos padres que estavam com ele, Pedrito, Jos\u00e9 Maria, Manuel e de outras pessoas que viviam com ele e vinham nos visitar. Os vizinhos da pra\u00e7a onde moramos, ao verem uma pessoa desconhecida, falavam: \u00abmais uma visita do Padre Pedro\u00bb, e indicavam para eles a nossa casa. \u00c0s vezes eles iam para o Brasil de barco e aproveitavam para levar muitas coisas que precisavam. Maria <\/strong>: Tem outras coisas que sim levava da fam\u00edlia: o nosso pai tamb\u00e9m gostava muito de cinema e se interessava pela cultura. Ele lia o jornal todos os dias. Maria: <\/strong> Quando minha m\u00e3e estava muito doente e muito confusa, lembro que um dia, vendo uma foto que t\u00ednhamos do Pedro, ela come\u00e7ou a dizer: \u00abEsse Pedro, esse Pedro … , que nunca vem nos visitar!\u00bb<\/p>\n

Sobrinhas: <\/strong> a vov\u00f3 sofreu muito com o fato de seu filho n\u00e3o ter voltado e ela estar t\u00e3o longe. Quando ela j\u00e1 estava muito velinha, muitas vezes a ouv\u00edamos chamar ele do quarto: \u00abPedro, Pedro, …!\u00bb.<\/p>\n
