Pedro Casald\u00e1liga morreu no dia 8 de agosto, aos 92 anos, no hospital da Santa Casa de Batatais, pr\u00f3ximo a S\u00e3o Paulo, para onde havia sido transferido de S\u00e3o F\u00e9lix do Araguaia por problemas pulmonares.<\/p>\n

A not\u00edcia se espalhou imediatamente pelo mundo e as condol\u00eancias e elogios ao seu perfil biogr\u00e1fico e, sobretudo, \u00e0s suas causas, ocuparam a m\u00eddia.<\/p>\n

No dia seguinte, domingo, enquanto se realizava a primeira missa de seu funeral na capela do Centro Universit\u00e1rio Claretiano de Batatais, em sua cidad natal, Balsareny, na Catalunha, houve um encontro espont\u00e2neo na Pra\u00e7a Ricard Vi\u00f1as, em frente \u00e0 Casa do Leiteiro (Cal Lleter), onde o bispo Pedro, filho do leiteiro da cidade, nasceu.<\/p>\n

Com m\u00e1scaras e na dist\u00e2ncia de seguran\u00e7a, centenas de pessoas testemunharam sua dor e transmitiram seu amor \u00e0 fam\u00edlia Casald\u00e1liga, representadas pelas duas irm\u00e3s de Pedro, Carme e Maria, e suas sobrinhas.<\/p>\n

Algumas pessoas dos grupos culturais da cidade declamaram poemas de Casald\u00e1liga (Retorn pairal e Castell de Balsareny); em seguida, Martina Ruiz tocou a m\u00fasica de Pau Casals, um cl\u00e1ssico da Catalunha, \u201cEl cant dels ocells\u201d no violoncelo e os presentes cantaram tamb\u00e9m o hino da montanha de Montserrat, o \u201cVirolai\u201d, ap\u00f3s um minuto de sil\u00eancio e reflex\u00e3o. <\/span><\/p>\n

O evento, breve e emocionante, foi encerrado por Anna Casald\u00e1liga, sobrinha do bispo, que agradeceu em nome da fam\u00edlia e pediu para continuar trabalhando pelas causas de Pedro Casald\u00e1liga. Os presentes responderam com uma longa salva de palmas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enquanto isso, no Brasil, os restos mortais do bispo foram transferidos de Batatais para S\u00e3o F\u00e9lix do Araguaia, passando pelo santu\u00e1rio dos m\u00e1rtires, em Ribeir\u00e3o Cascalheira, j\u00e1 em Mato Grosso, em meio a demonstra\u00e7\u00f5es emocionantes de luto da popula\u00e7\u00e3o, e foi sepultado, seguindo seu testamento expresso, no cemit\u00e9rio dos \u00edndios Karaj\u00e1, \u00e0s margens do rio Araguaia, na quarta-feira, 12 de agosto.<\/p>\n

Em Balsareny, no dia 15, foi realizada a missa-funeral. Uma celebra\u00e7\u00e3o austera e ao mesmo tempo acolhedora, idealizada pela fam\u00edlia Casald\u00e1liga, grupos de volunt\u00e1rios da Comiss\u00e3o Pere Casald\u00e0liga, a entidade Balsareny Educa e outras organiza\u00e7\u00f5es locais, com a colabora\u00e7\u00e3o da Prefeitura Municipal.<\/p>\n

Como o interior da igreja tem espa\u00e7o limitado devido as limita\u00e7\u00f5es sanit\u00e1rias, os bancos normalmente utilizados foram colocados fora da Igreja, juntamente com um grande n\u00famero de cadeiras, que os assistentes colocaram na pra\u00e7a da cidade. Um sistema de som foi instalado para que o povo da pra\u00e7a pudesse ouvir tudo o que se falava no templo, pois havia parlamentos muito profundos, emocionantes e interessantes.<\/p>\n

Para al\u00e9m de um retrato do Pedro Casald\u00e1liga, foram colocados no altar e no exterior da igreja v\u00e1rios elementos carregados de simbolismo, que poder\u00e1 descobrir clicando nos c\u00edrculos com o \u201c+\u201d na imagem: <\/strong><\/p>\n
